Deal Advisory – Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Associate to Senior

Job Description

  • Actively involved in execution of M&A deals for Southeast Asian clients
  • Providing Buy and Sell side M&A services to major corporate, SMEs and private equity funds
  • Executing tasks encompassing building financial models, valuation, drafting information memorandums, financial analysis and reviewing due diligence reports
  • Conducting research and market analysis to help assess the impact of market dynamics and the competitive environment
  • Contributing to the delivery and presentation of client deliverables
  • Identifying and addressing client needs


  • Excellent academic background in fields related to Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance or equivalent
  • Good financial modelling skill
  • For Senior role, a minimum of 2 – 4 years of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) commercial due diligence and growth strategy experience, and/or working experience in financial advisory firms/global consulting firms or investment banks or big 4 consulting firm or private equity fund
  • CFA, CPA, ACA or other relevant international certificates will be an advantage
  • Good analytical, problem solving and presentation/report writing skills, combined with
  • a good understanding of business dynamics
  • Goal driven – focused on helping the client to understand issues and resolve key questions; ability to drive through to an outcome and to gain stakeholder support in circumstances of complexity and ambiguity
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills combined with sound commercial acumen
  • Ability to work independently, and develop good relationships with Senior/Manager(s)
  • High proficiency in both verbal and written English is essential
  • Flexibility to adapt to a variety of different engagement types, working hours and work environments and locations

Our Deal Advisory professionals help buyers, sellers, private equity investors, governments, and lenders in developing and executing on their value strategies.

We offer start-to-finish support in the acquisition process, including input on strategy, early identification of risk areas, coordination and execution of due diligence investigations (financial, tax and commercial) and input and advice on contract terms geared to reduce risks. We also get involved in assisting our clients with a host of services surrounding closing the transaction and post-deal integration. Our clients are typically foreign and local strategic corporates, private equity funds, pension funds, large public companies, and private corporations.

Our Deal Advisory team includes the following service lines: Transaction Services, Deal Strategy, Valuations, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) – Corporate Finance, Restructuring, and Infrastructure Advisory.

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) represent a pivotal change in a company’s plan for development or expansion. KPMG Deal Advisory, M&A provides organizations with constructive advice throughout the transaction life cycle.

Our services include:

— Reviewing an investor’s acquisition strategy and assessing alternatives

— Identifying and assessing potential targets both locally and internationally

— Developing a divestment sales strategy and assisting in maximizing returns

— Deal initiation / target approach / identifying and assessing prospective purchasers

— Advising and assisting in the drafting of Marketing and other transaction documents including Teaser, Information Memorandum, Buyer Lists and Sales & Purchase Agreements

— Pricing analysis, deal structuring and negotiation support
